Last year I went shopping for a few non-essential items like pens even though I knew traffic would be awful on December 23rd. I felt like getting out of the house and thought it wouldn't be too bad if I went before people got home from work. Wrong! The two main entrances to the mall had cars backed up farther I'd ever seen them. I thought I was smart by going around to the back entrance. Wrong! There were so many cars trying to get in that a policeman was directing traffic to keep things from getting ugly.
I forgot that going to the mall a few days before Christmas was like going to a zoo after they let the animals out of their cages. So I wrote this post last year and dated it for this December to remind myself to stay home the two days before Christmas. I mean it Rebecca! Don't go out. Snow boots for stroke survivors won't help me deal with the crazy, aggressive people who are shopping at the last minute.
I was returning some library books today and considered going to Target for a couple of small items, luckily I realized that was a stupid idea that could wait.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Rebecca! Don't go out! Heck I don't even go out in that mess! And I'm not the one who had the stroke. Time to stay home and take it easy.
ReplyDeleteTake care and thanks for making me laugh. And Merry Christmas!
Great reminder!
